Busy Busy

I am pretty sure the only purpose of the weekends is to catch up from the previous week and prepare for the upcoming one. Since my last post a mere 24 hours ago I feel like I haven't stopped moving. Margie went to bed at 5 pm last night since she didn't nap. I knew it was going to make for an interesting night, but I was crossing my fingers that this would be the time she decided to sleep straight through until 7 am. Matt left to out for the evening so it was really just me and Lily, which was wonderful. I was doing laundry but between loads we played Go Fish a couple times and did "homeschool". Basically, I make up a bunch of worksheets for her to do. I am pretty sure I have pinned a couple websites that have printables so I should check into that.
(Lily can't hold her cards in her hand so we play on the floor so she can lay out her cards around the corner!)
After that I gave Lily a bath and we read some stories. As usual, just as I got Lily to bed Margie woke up crying. I rocked her for a bit and then tried putting her down but she wasn't having it. Lily was out cold and I decided to try and let her cry for a bit. I came down stairs to enjoy my tea and fold some laundry and try to watch some football, but after a little while I just couldn't stand listening to her cry anymore. The girl is relentless. I don't know how I am ever going to get her to sleep through the night in her own bed. I know it is my fault for ever letting her sleep in our bed in the first place, but oh well. I'm already planning my revenge for when she is a teenager. Anyway, I brought her down stairs and gave her a snack and we played for a bit. She was a ball of energy. Apparently Margie regarded her brief slumber as just a nap. I eventually took her up to bed with me and still it took about an hour to get her back down. Today was more laundry, getting dinner in the crockpot, a shower (the joy!!) and playing with the kiddos. And now, now the lunches are made for tomorrow, I have my sneakers set out to bring to work tomorrow since a co-worker and I are committed to walking at lunch, Lily's clothes are laid out for tomorrow (first day back after break), and I even had a chance to paint my nails. I am enjoying my cup of tea and am about to go upstairs and start the first episode of Downton Abbey on streaming Netflix. I have heard great things about this program from friends of all different backgrounds. I want to see what all the hype is about. Have you watched it? Do you love it?

Leap Frog sells a great "card holder" for young kids. They are like a big wheel that you can put the cards in so the child just has to hold one wheel instead of many cards.
