While I don't like parting with over 400 bucks, it certainly is better than what it could have been. And we are kind of in the same boat. For now, we will fix things as they come until we find out it will cost more to fix than replace. Hopefully, though, we will be okay for a while...at least the rest of this winter. The guy said everything else looked fine, but with these old things, you never know. And I am sure ours isn't very energy efficient either, but we normally keep it fairly low, especially with the space heater.Kellyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15613938715065542477noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-916447680650627842.post-69805798364327942672008-11-19T13:13:00.000-07:002008-11-19T13:13:00.000-07:00$427 is not bad for a furnace repair. The repair guy said with a furnace as old as ours (it's the original, too, 50 years old!) we're better off repairing it rather than replacing it since newer ones aren't built as well and break down more often.

Unfortunately I don't think it's very energy efficient. And it takes up about a quarter of our basement!Bronwenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02114743960036813412noreply@blogger.com
